Straight answers to the questions we hear most.
We’ve been roofing in the Hunter region for over 40 years, since the mid-1980s. We’re a family-owned business based in Beresfield, and we service Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, and Central Coast.
You’ll deal directly with Jason Sinclair the owner from your first enquiry right through to the final inspection. There’s no call centre, no middlemen, and no hand-offs to someone you’ve never spoken to.
Yes. We’re long-standing members of the Master Builders Association (MBA). These memberships hold us accountable to the highest industry standards, which is exactly how we like it.
As a rough guide, if more than 20–25% of your tiles are cracked, slipping, or badly weathered, a full re-roof is generally more cost-effective in the long run. For isolated damage, a few broken tiles, a leaking valley, or a damaged ridge cap, repairs are often all that’s needed. We’re happy to come out, take a look, and give you an honest recommendation with no obligation.
Absolutely. Most clients stay put throughout the project. There will be some noise during working hours, but we work efficiently and keep the site as tidy as possible throughout. We’ll give you a clear timeline before we start so you know what to expect each day.
Most residential re-roofs take between 2 to 5 days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof. Larger or more complex jobs may take a little longer. We’ll always give you an estimated timeframe upfront before any work begins.
We understand a leak can’t wait. Give Jason a call directly on 0423 884 742 and we’ll do our best to get out to you as quickly as possible. We treat leak calls as a priority, particularly after heavy rain events.
Yes. Old materials are removed and disposed of properly in line with NSW waste-handling regulations. You won’t be left with a pile of broken tiles sitting in your yard.
In most cases, yes. We’ll do our best to match the profile and colour of your existing tiles. With Monier’s extensive range, we can usually find a very close match. We’ll discuss your options and show you samples before any work begins.
In most cases, a straightforward re-roof using the same tile type doesn’t require council approval. However, if you’re changing the roof profile, adding skylights, or altering the roofline as part of an extension, you may need to check with your local council. We can advise based on your specific situation.
Concrete tiles are generally more affordable, widely available in a large range of colours and profiles, and very durable. Terracotta tiles are made from natural clay, giving them a distinctive warm tone and excellent longevity, often lasting 30+ years. Both are excellent choices; the right one depends on your home’s style, your budget, and your long-term plans. We’ll walk you through the options.
That’s part of what we do. We’ll talk through your home’s architecture, your neighbourhood, and your personal style, and we can show you Monier’s full colour and profile range including their Colours & Profiles selector, so you can make a confident decision before anything is ordered.
